John Russell, a UK “Doc Martin” fan, visited Port Isaac and sent some lovely photographs. Thanks John!
Port Isaac
The whole place was just as it is in the TV program; nothing has been edited for the “Doc.”
Parking Lot
Parking our car at a specially constructed parking lot at the top of the hill that leads to Port Isaac Harbour, we walked down a normal street to a tiny downhill lane that led to the bottom of the road, “School” side of Port Isaac.
Harbour
We walked down to the Harbour, where dogs were barking and wanting us to throw stones for them to run after. (Wonder if the “Doc” did that.)
Chemist
Seeing Mrs. Tishell’s Chemist (a souvenir shop), we went in. My wife bought me a “Doc Martin” mug and a poster picture of the cast.
.
Fishery
We saw the fishery where the “Doc” buys his fish and did a right turn, up the hill, past Bert’s Restaurant, to Doc Martin’s House.
School House
We took a few pictures and walked back down the hill, past the fishery and back up the other side, to the School House. We went into the school (“hotel”) and had a “Cream Tea” (Tea/Coffee with a fruit scone with Jam (Jello) and Fresh Cornish Cream).
.
Louisa
We walked up past the school, to Louisa’s house.

Imagine
All the time, I could imagine Doctor Ellingham running down the tiny lanes to attend a patient.
