I’m really sad to say I think this series has run it’s course. I’m disappointed in the story lines that don’t have enough of Doc and Louisa’s relationship. Too many scenes with auntie Ruth who, in my opinion, isn’t as likeable as auntie Joan. I hope this series improves before the last episode!
Where are some of the writers who wrote really good stories in earlier episodes?
I agree that Series 6 & 7 were disappointing in the relationship between Martin & Louisa. The writers turned Louisa into such a harpy. So far, I think S8 is doing a better job at their relationship. When writers and directors change, it does make a huge difference in the tone of the episodes. Fingers crossed S8 continues to strengthen Martin & Louisa’s relationship.
